Table Manners
Table manners are more than about
proper eating. It’s about being kind and considerate to others. Children need
coaching and remainders on table manners throughout their childhood. It is best
to give positive reinforcement.
We at Firstep wish to inculcate this healthy habit in children right from the beginning. The following points were discussed with the children during their lunch break, with a class demo. Washing hands before eating is most important. Other aspects:
1.
Eating with a fork.
2.
Place your napkin on your lap.
3. Chew with
mouth closed.
4.
Sit up straight in your chair.
5.
Do not
shovel…. Eat slow.
6.
Do not put your elbows on the table.
7.
Do not talk with food in your mouth.
8.
Don’t chew
the food with noise.
9. Always say
thank you for your meal.
Children enjoyed and felt a sense of
achievement.
